Debt isn’t freedom. It’s chains for your mind

Debt isn’t freedom. It’s chains for your mind picture

The old slavery just put on new clothes.
It’s not chains and whips anymore. Now it’s tiredness in your head. The new masters take your time, your energy, your dreams — they make you pay with your mind.Take a normal person who could be building something good with what he has — land, water, sunlight, hard work.
Instead he ends up paying debts to companies far away.Example: someone wants a phone.
Cash price maybe R2 500 – R3 500.
But through those “pay little by little” plans — R100 or R150 a week for a year or more —
by the end he pays R6 000, R7 000, sometimes even double the real price. He thinks the phone is his.
But really, the phone owns him.
Every day he wakes up worried about the next payment, not about building his life.
If he misses one day, they can switch it off, watch him, stress him.
And when he finally finishes paying, the phone is already old and slow. It’s the same story with cars, motorbikes, solar lights, fridges — anything sold on credit that costs way more than it should. The Bible says it plain:
“The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” (Proverbs 22:7)This is not help.
This is a quiet way to keep people stuck — working hard just to stay alive, never getting ahead. We must open people’s eyes.
Tell them clearly:
Slavery didn’t disappear.
It just changed shape.
Now it lives inside your head through debt.Stop taking these loans for phones, cars, gadgets you don’t really need right now.
Debt like this is not freedom.
It’s a trap that keeps you tired and controlled.Choose to build slow but free.
Keep your mind clear.
Keep your time for yourself.
That’s the real way out.
